Tsunami 2012 Sandalwood Film Review

STORY –
‘Tsunami’ is the tale of a youngster who is found on the ‘Tsunami’ havoc day. Named as Tsunami (Raj) grows in Mumbai and he supports his father business. The muscle and brain power of Tsunami finally loses him his parents who have brought him up in life.

Back in Bengaluru he is fighting against all wrong doers. He is a rowdy for good cause. No one can stand before him. That is his strength. When he becomes the underworld don the antinational gang seeks his support in operation ‘Target Karnataka’. Tsunami agrees to blast various places in Bengaluru first but he teaches the antinational gang a lesson. In the climax he falls to the bullet and dies.

ANALYSIS –
Why this kind of films with weak subjects should be made is the first question that lands in mind. The film in the making since four years has six action scenes and not even one is absorbing.

Producer Raja also lead actor has not got a captivating story for ‘Tsunami’. Every move of the film is easily predictable. The screenplay, dialogues and technical aspects are in poor standards. In the second half more than 30 minutes of the film is in Hindi language. We feel as if we are watching a Hindi film. That is the flashback of the hero Tsunami.

It seems producer Raja in the lead wanted to show off that he is able to do action. All the six action portions he participates are very ordinary. The stunts are also not in variety. Throughout the film he is in one mood of ‘dishum dishum’.

In the opening of the film the ‘Tsunami’ havoc shots on the silver screen has no connectivity to the film.

The dialogues are cut in various places because it is against to the Pakistan country that is especially in the second half. Hundreds of bullet from guns and pistols never touch the hero till the last scene.

Like a hard rock the protagonist goes on a rampage to remain a kingpin. He does Good Samaritan job at places but all that are not in different style.

This kind of story writer, director, actor and producer should be properly scrutinized before taking up a film. This is for the better of Kannada cinema industry. Otherwise the numbers goes on increasing to the list of Kannada films.

PERFORMANCES –
Raj making debut as Tsunami has a long way to go. He has to tremendously improve to give a pleasant acting. He is OK in action scenes but they are not in unique style. Sonia as heroine is wasted.

The comedy actor Rangayana Raghu does not have proper mileage. Doddanna and Tennis Krishna combination is back after a long time. Rana and Narang – two Hindi actors have not made any changes to increase the value of the film.

TECHNICALITY –
This is the poorest in techniques. The camera lighting is improper. A lot deserved to be better. One Kannada song for protagonist is tolerable from music director Sadgunaraj.

Last but not the Least – Waste of money and time are two incorrigible mistakes in life!
