With almost all major shootings halted for the last ten days, a sense of panic has set in Tamil filmdom. Tamil Film Producers Council and FEFSI union are in loggerheads over the wage revision issue and the Directors Association joining the cause, a sense of insecurity prevails now.
The Tamil Film Producers Council has ringed the panic bell. They have appealed to Tamilnadu Chief Minister
J Jayalalithaa to intervene and sort out the difference. A section of producers say, 'we are hoping for a solution at the earliest. We have explained our situation. Our hands are tied down. Of the 150 films being made in Tamil cinema every year, only about seven to eight films make it big. We are making loss. We are waiting for an amicable solution'.
TFPC president S A Chandrasekharan said, 'we had enough discussion and finally approached the doors of Chief Minister. Hopefully the issue gets sorted out'
