Dhandupalya Faces Legal Hassles

‘Dhandupalya’ Kannada film by director Srinivasaraju has faced legal hassles from a senior journalist Srinath from Mysore. The journalist with over two and half decades of experience Srinath serving in various newspapers like Mysore Mithra, Andolana, Hai Bengaluru etc is the author of ‘Dhandupalyadha Hantakaru’ book and he alleges that the film ‘Dhandupalya’ is based on his book.

Srinath President of Mysore Press Club President has written a letter to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and approaching the court under the copyright Act.

Prior to publication of the book ‘Dhandupalyadha Hantakaru’ there was a series in ‘Andolana’ newspaper on the dreaded killers. When the book was published 25000 copies were sold in the market. From 2000 the book is in circulation says Srinath.

The KFCC after receiving the complaint has immediately withhold the title ‘Dhandupalya’ title registered for producers Prashanth and Girish T.
